Dian Chi Lake, also known as Kunming Lake, is a beautiful and scenic body of water that is 6,000 feet above sea level on the Yungui Plateau. Covering a surface area of 116 square miles and 25 miles long, the western side of the lake is surrounded by dense mountain forests, while the eastern side is known for its prime sailing and fishing. Bird life is abundant, and the forest is rich in over 3,000 types of trees and shrubs. Dian Chi is one of the most scenic lakes in this region at any time of day or on a clear, moonlit night.
